The overwhelming majority of sites is designed by men for men. First in own way scientific research has shown, that women prefer completely other design.




Unprecedented scientific job experts from British university Glemorgana - Gloria Moss (Gloria Moss) from business - school and have published Hannah's Sort (Rod Gunn), the expert in the field of statistics. As a result of the lead(carried out) research they have proved, that men and women differently perceive the information on the Internet. If to speak about design because of a difference in aesthetic attitude of the man prefer one design, and women - it is completely another.




For a long time it is known, that the feeling of harmony, perception(recognition) of colors and aesthetic attitude at men and women strongly differs. Probably, each of us noticed such differences in a life. The British scientists have confirmed, that this phenomenon really exists. And rather strongly he is shown on the Internet. In the scientific job they have shown, that on web - page there can be elements which perfectly approach for perception(recognition) one floor, and at all do not approach for another.




To prove the theory about a difference of "Internet - tastes" of men and women, researchers have studied personal websites of 30 men and 30 women, trying to find the important differences in design. They took into account such factors, as stylistic registration of the text, visual design and navigation - only 23 parameters. And already at this stage the huge difference in man's and female design was found out. Significant distinctions were observed almost on half of parameters.




In the field of visual design of the man obviously preferred direct lines instead of округлых forms, a modest set of colors for the interface and a background, and also the simplified registration of the text. At women all with accuracy on the contrary.




In the field of information filling and stylistic registration of the text of the man prefer formal or expert language with rare use of abbreviations, and also are more inclined to advertise itself and the abilities.




At the second stage research scientists have made sample of websites and showed their men and women, not informing them(him,it), what floor the designer created a site. However in overwhelming majority of cases of the woman preferred the sites made by women, and men - made by men.




The statistics absolutely convincingly shows, that the difference in man's and female design really exists. Though similar research is spent for the first time in the world, but, probably, anybody from us will not argue with his(its) results - probably, everyone has life experience which speaks about the validity of these conclusions.




Causes a regret other fact which has been found out by the British researchers. They have studied set of sites on the Internet and have found out, that 94 % from them are designed for man's perception(recognition)! And it in spite of the fact that the audience of sites practically fifty-fifty shares between men and women. What here to speak, if the overwhelming majority of designers - men. On statistics, only 7 % of sites on the Internet are created by the woman or the female command of designers. It is really sad. The present(true) funny thing(funny), but even 78 % of Internet - shops on sale of cosmetics too are designed by men!




Modern Internet - business has already left on such level when design of a site can render very strong influence on profit of the enterprise. Therefore it is extremely important to take into account preferences of a target audience and to bring corrective amendments in design, depending on the one who makes the majority of visitors - men or women.
