Creating the site, people, as a rule, appreciating a fashion do(make) index page, but more often, it is a primitive picture, having pressed on which the visitor gets on a site. Very seldom beginning(starting)  reflect, and what for, actually, him(it) this most index page? And it is sad.

I am irritated, in most cases, with prompts, and when I very much hurry in search of the important information, or it is a pity to me to spend time for loading and to wait while begins obvious where to press enter on a site then because of çàñòàâî÷íîé pages, you risk to lose me, as the visitor, and not only me.

But there are cases when application of prompt is justified, them, in my opinion, only three:

   1. The prompt intrigues, for example, it is any unearthly beauty that pulls me to continue the travel on a site, but such there is extremely seldom, more often a hypochondriac founder of a site of vanities to me something not clear, and it irritates. So this first case rather shaky. Besides even if your prompt, really, will force me to say "âàó", and to rush to get acquainted with a site closer, but in actual fact the site will not be ñîîòâåñòâîâàòü to a level of prompt you risk to lose me, as the visitor, in my disappointment. So be accurater.

   2. The prompt is presentation (a small advertising roller, for example, about production of firm). Such prompts are justified on corporate sites, if an audience for which you expect, people not poor, having access in the Internet on the selected channel. Besides the roller should intrigue, and appearance of pages of a site that the visitor after presentation will see to be up to standard. Here all is more serious, losing the visitor, the firm, probably, loses also the potential client.

   3. The prompt gives a choice, for example, the visitor can choose language on which he should look through the given site (English, Russian). Also, if the site has flash and html versions the choice too should be offered the visitor. Except for that the prompt can offer the visitor a choice: to go on this site or to not go, for example, if the site concerns to a category adult, or contains the information which can offend the user.
